A highlight of the 2026 program is Ballet Americana, choreographed by Ballet Concerto founding artistic director Margo Dean and set to rousing patriotic music by John Philip Sousa. Created as a joyful tribute to the spirit of America, the work celebrates unity, tradition, and the enduring power of the arts.
The program also features a striking spanish contemporary work, in search of duende, by resident choreographer Elise lavallee. this piece was originally premiered at the 2018 summer dance concert.
showcasing the continued evolution of the company’s artistic voice, a new work by ballet concerto alum brandon nguyen will be featured in this year’s performance. brandon’s talent as a dancer was discovered in the 1990s by ballet concerto’s find (find and inspire new dancers) outreach program, which brings ballet to several elementary schools in the fwisd. thanks to his focus and dedication brandon honed his skills performing for the company for several years. he went on to dance professionally for the orlando ballet, atlanta opera, among other prestigious groups. this will be brandon’s debut as a choreographer and his piece is highly anticipated. you won’t want to miss the work of this rising star!
Ballet Concerto engages choreographers of national and international renown and professional dancers from ballet companies throughout the United States for this concert. Ballet Concerto has presented this popular professional ballet performance to metroplex audiences every summer since 1983, with 2020 being the only exception.
